
Ducati is to demonstrate a prototype of its new Desmosedici RR road bike in public for the first time at this summer’s World Ducati Week.During the Misano event from June 28 to July 1, test rider Vittoriano Guareschi is to ride the Desmosedici RR, three years on from the bike’s announcement at the same event back in 2004.
The bike’s debut will be just one of the attractions at this year’s WDW. The firm’s GP riders Loris Capirossi and Casey Stoner will also do demo laps on their Desmosedici GP7 racers, and Troy Bayliss and Lorenzo Lanzi will demonstrate their works Ducati 999 WSB machines. Stoner and Capirossi will be flown in directly from the Assen GP, and fans will be able to watch the race live on huge TV screens on the Saturday.
The event will also see some fans get pillion rides on the two-seat Desmosedici piloted by Randy Mamola, and the Italian air force’s Frecce Tricolori display team will do a show on Saturday June 30.
